Catch Crew Journal is a fishing log for saving catches, photos, species, weights, notes, and catch locations.

Data used by the app

The app stores the angler name, catch details, catch photos, optional profile photo, and optional catch location in the app's iCloud CloudKit container. The journal displays catches for the signed-in iCloud user and syncs across that user's devices.

AI species identification

When you ask the app to identify a fish, the selected catch photo is sent through the app's private Cloudflare proxy to Anthropic Claude for species identification. The Claude API key is never stored on your device.

Tracking and ads

The app does not show ads, does not use third-party advertising trackers, and does not sell personal information.
